I’d like to tell you a story. It’s about WHY I do what I do, and why I’d like to help YOU achieve...

When I got Cowboy as a 9 week old pup we become best buddies within the first 24 hours. He was stuck like glue to my heels (typical heeler right) and has been since.

Everything was going great, until...

Little did I know that this dog would turn my life completely upside down and test me in ways I didn't even think a dog could.

His extreme intelligence & drive made training both a breeze while also being mind boggling difficult (like I was smashing my head into a brick wall and getting nowhere) at the same time.

It got to the point where I wasn't sure if I could provide the kind of life for him he deserved. Or at least that's what I told myself...but deep down I knew I would just be giving up on him.

Quitting is something I am not fond of to put it politely. Especially on a dog who I know would literally lay his life down for me in a second.

The intense is loyalty of this breed is one of their traits I admire the most.

What did I do?

Cattle dogs are known for being stubborn, but so am I...

I doubled down (countless hours of research, years worth really) and committed myself to learning what I needed to so that we could live the epic life together I imagined when I first saw his picture online before I got him (like the picture above of his first backpacking trip at just 4 months old).

There have been very high highs and very low lows, but through it all he has been by my side and I felt I owed it to him for his unwavering devotion to give him the best life possible. 

They can be demanding, I get it

This breed was bred to work stubborn cattle in harsh environments all day long.

The best way I can describe it is you are taking a rough around the edges ranch hand and often times plopping them putting them in a city. Do you really expect them to sit there & be civilized right out of the box? 😂
